MaMA 

Welcome visitors, to another evening in our living room. During the build-up of the exhibition shadow circuits, our house has slowly transformed into a minimalist space, allowing to emerge what was hidden beneath colors and furniture: the infrastructures that move materials around the world. Here, among pipes, the brackish tears of the Maasvlakte and invasive species caught on ships, you can sip from cocktails that mirror global trade flows. To add to our ongoing guest wall, we ask you to imagine that you are a drink. Are you a more salty, pickled wodka drink? Or an earth-like, rich cocktail?

The Hosts

Friday Night at Ours is a comfy ‘n cozy series of gatherings that cater to the art of making people feel at home. During each Kunstavond, a monthly night to wander downtown art spaces for free, MaMA’s public engagement team (a.k.a the hosts) will facilitate an event inspired by the many ways people gather at their house: a dinner, a birthday party, a game night and so on…Friday Night at Ours is not your normal exhibition visit, during these evenings you can experience our institution in a different light–whether we’re in the middle of build-up or in the midst of a full-blown exhibition, on Kunstavond MaMA’s showroom feels like stepping into a friend’s home. 

MaMA’s public engagement team consists of Giu Di Dato, Katayun Taraporevala and Benticklyn Redkina. During their talent development trajectory they try out new methods to welcome visitors in our exhibitions, and develop their own research in relation to the space.
