Departures x Input Party
A Workshop with Input Party
Welcome to Departures, an exhibition in the form of a travel agency! Looking for the trip of your dreams? Tell us where you want to go next! We invite you to an irresistible journey by the hand of Input Party in which we will explore together the position of the tourist and new forms of tourism.
Our agents from Input Party are specialised in working with images and will guide you through a multi-destination trip revisiting the role of personal references and archives in creative processes. What do you need? Just dig into your archives, make a selection of the images that move you the most, and send them to us right away. We’ll print them for you and will use them to reflect on your practice. Are you ready? Pack your pictures and let’s go!
Our travel advice
- In preparation for the Input Party, we ask you to select 10 images that refer in one way or another to the themes of freedom of movement, disproportioned relationships, departures, borders, and navigation.
- Take with you the images that trigger you (i.e. found images or photos taken purely for reference), avoiding pictures of your own artistic work.
- Please make sure you send all 10 images by the 6th of October so we have enough time to print them.
- At the end of the Input Party, participants will be able to pick an image from another participant. These will be printed as postcards and sent to the participants after the event.
- The remaining images will become part of the Input Party archive and Input Party will use them for future projects and as promotional material.
Input Party is a duo-collective that explores the role of personal references and archives in the creative processes of researchers and artists. In their events, the search for the role of images in (one’s own) artistic research is always central, typically in the form of meetups, workshops, and studio visits in collaboration with institutional archives.
About IRL
Our lives are dominated by the self-produced realities that we encounter on the internet and social media. This tension between fact and fiction touches upon the core of our leitmotiv IN REAL LIFE. The only way to escape the post-truth is to meet each other in real life. We facilitate these meetings in the form of readings, lectures, masterclasses, workshops, excursions and parties that tangibly express the ideas behind HOME | IN REAL LIFE | NETWORKS.
