This summer MAMA presents the multimedia project Endless City; a project in which we investigate the relationship between skateboard culture, public space and (visual) art, with a nod to the ideas of the International Situationists.

The similarities between art and skateboard culture – exploring boundaries and questioning prevailing rules and views – offers interesting possibilities with regard to exploring new possibilities and applications of (the use of) the public urban space.

On July 18 and 19 (during the street weekend of Rotterdam European Youth Capital 2009) a series of dance interventions led by Conny Janssen took place. Contemporary dance responds in its own way to the dynamic movements of skateboarding and the creative interaction with obstacles in public space.
