MaMA 

Bisley 

British artist Mat Do realized his first big solo exhibition at MaMA in 2018. Care Bare examined the modern consumption society and platform economy. For his installation Mat created a game between luxurious and cheap products that investigated the tension between value, temptation and advertisement. Thanks to a generous donation by Bisley, producer of office furniture, Mat was able to create the work Trippel Cabin which was the show piece of the exhibition.

Fornace Falcone 

In 2016 ondersteunde Fornace Falcone, een vooraanstaande terracotta werkplaats in het Italiaanse gebied Campania, een residentie van Susan Kooi. Ondersteund door materiaal, expertise en verblijf kon Susan een nieuwe reeks werken maken die aan het einde van dat jaar gepresenteerd werden in de tentoonstelling Lonely Planet in MAMA’s showroom. De tentoonstelling werd begeleid door een gelijknamige publicatie, een alternatieve reisgids/reisverslag, en het eerste deel van een drieluik uitgegeven door JapSam Books.

Tripiti

MaMA has enjoyed working with Tripiti for all our printing needs for years. The printing company is located at Eendrachtsstraat 155-A in Rotterdam and has a long history; just like Tripiti’s ever-helpful contact person, John. No question is too crazy for him, and he is always willing to brainstorm. The fact that MaMA is located just a stone’s throw from the printing company makes it easy to pop in. The familiar smell of ink and the hypnotic hum of the printing machines give you the feeling of being directly involved in the printing process. Unlike anonymous bulk orders from large online flyer printers, with Tripiti you know for sure that you are getting quality. As they put it themselves: “If you are looking for the cheapest printer in the world. Too bad, then you have come to the wrong place. We have competitive pricing, but to say we are the cheapest, not exactly. The best printer in the world, then; we come close, but with the modesty that suits us, we do not dare to claim that outright.”

But MaMA does dare to claim it. Tripti is simply the best printer in the world.

Since 2016, MAMA has been an exhibition partner of the Master Fine Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute. In close dialogue with the graduating artists, MAMA develops the final examination presentations at both a content and execution level, including location and promotion. This has led to the following projects:
